Description

Garnering immediate award-winning attention, the Granite Gear Blaze AC 60 comfortably hauls 35 pounds of gear while weighing less than 3 pounds. An ideal balance of weight and performance, the Blaze AC 60 is sure to appeal to ounce-counting backpackers and thru-hikers.

Equipped with Granite Gear's 3-dimensionally molded/alloyed AirCurrent frame, the Blaze AC 60 confidently carries weight while delivering ventilation. Molded air channels, breathable mesh fabrics and supportive foam further aid in the fight against heat and moisture build-up. Padded shoulder straps and a padded hipbelt provide additional comfort and load support. The Blaze AC 60 provides fit adjustability in two torso size offerings. The Regular fits torso sizes ranging from 18"-22" and the Short fits 14"-18" torso lengths.  An adjustable sternum strap and load-lifter straps provide fine-tuned fit adjustment.

A voluminous packbag provides ample storage (3660 cubic inches in the Regular and 3350 in the Short) capacity and a roll-down, cinch-tight spindrift collar protects the contents of the packbag while keeping weight to a minimum. A Line-Loc lid (sold separately) delivers further protection and an additional storage pocket. Lightweight integrated Line-Loc compression cord keeps gear securely in place. A large front stuff-it pocket serves as an additional storage space and twin side mesh pockets are perfect for water bottles or other gear.

A combination of 100D Ripstop, 210D Nylon Cordura and stretch mesh fabrics provide the Blaze AC 60 with durability in a lightweight design.

  • Adjustable torso length
  • LineLoc compression system
  • Stretch mesh pockets on the bottom of the pack sides

I love this pack. It took me a bit to dial in the fit, but now that its there I am amazed by the comfort. The simplicity is my favorite thing. It has everything I need and nothing I don't! I love this pack.

I wish it had one hip belt pocket.

Simple = Good pack

Spent almost a year looking for a all around general purpose backpacking pack and this is it. It handled my 30lbs(including food&water) perfectly over 11 miles in Mohican St Forest. The simplicity of the pack and comfortable hip belt made for a comfortable hike up and down the trails. The molle webbing makes it very customizable to fit your needs for hip pouches vs some other packs that don't offer them or are sewn into the belt.

Dislikes

None so far, it packs well for both my tent and hammock loadout since using it.

I own lots of backpacks, Eberlestock, Camelback, Mystery Ranch, Kifaru and Hill People gear, 10 packs in total. This back pack is great and one of the best for so many reasons and now my go to pack. I love the lightweight, the ability to attach lots of items, the stretchy material you can stuff with lots of goodies, durability, comfort. I am becoming a very big fan of Granite gear. Bottom line - if you are on the fence with this pack just buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Dislikes

The colours are a bit hideous but there is nothing I don't like about this pack.

As I began to transition to ultralight gear, I purchased this pack with the intention of making it my go-to for backpacking. You have to pack efficiently, but are able to fit all the necessities. This has been the most comfortable pack I've owned - great padding in the shoulder straps and I love that you can select a hip belt appropriate to your size. It's even lighter than my small daypack, which now is collecting dust in the closest as a result.

Dislikes

The compartment for the water bladder is a tight squeeze -- wish it was more flexible and had elastic at the top vs a zipper.

-Hip pads and shoulder straps are very comfortable. -Simple design, you just have to pack smart. It's great for my 1-3 night excursions. -Light weight but comfortable. -Added the hip pocket, which is great for the little things needed on the trail.

Dislikes

-I wish the top lid was included instead of an add on. I guess that's how they can say the pack is so light. -I'm about a 32 waist size, but I'm really cinching down to the limits of the medium belt. I'm considering swapping it out for the small belt size.

I love the frame and hipbelt, plus the rucksack design. I added the top lid because I like the extra space, as I carry some of my daughter's gear too. BV500 fits inside, just not horizontally.

Dislikes

I read that a BV500 would fit horizontally, but it doesn't. It's okay though... I just had to rethink my packing a little and it worked just fine.

The backpack seems to be well made with tough fabrics. The hipbelt was very comforable. The front 'stretch mesh' pocket opening was smaller than I expected.

Dislikes

You have to purchase the top cap separately which adds to the weight.

Lightweight, well-constructed, and completely fits my 5'8" torso, medium. We're going 3 day camping this weekend and I'll get to really try it out. Overall, this is a good buy compared to other heavier backpacks.

Dislikes

The choice of colors, and no expansion pouch

I was looking for a pack that was more minimalist. I didn't wan't straps in every direction, I didn't need 4 different compartments or pockets everywhere. The Blaze was just the perfect size and the big mesh pockets on the side and front of the pack are perfect for saws, small camp chairs, fuel, water bottles, etc. The Blaze also expands and contracts really well. You can maximize the pack out, or just have a small day load and it will secure down quite easily.

Dislikes

I recently took the pack on a sub-zero overnighter and the mesh pockets do not perform as good in the really cold. They don't contract back to their original form, they stay expanded. So the elastic on the mesh pockets aren't really ment for subzero, but the pack was awesome in the cold/snow.

It is light weight and unlike other packs on the market. Simple.

Dislikes

Two compression cords that went vertical on the lower part of the pack would have been nice for a sleeping mat. I am using the compression cords up the middle for that purpose.
