Description

A revamped incarnation of the award-winning Vapor Trail, the Granite Gear Crown V.C. 60 sports an innovative lightweight suspension, trail-friendly organizational features and a weight of just over 2 pounds! This combination of features is ideal for ultra-lightweight backpacking and thru-hiking.

Equipped with Granite Gear's Vapor Current suspension, a molded/channeled backpanel, a die-cut HDPE framesheet and supportive foam padding, the Crown V.C. 60 maintains load stability, comfortably carries up to 35 pounds and combats heat and moisture build-up. Padded shoulder straps and a padded hipbelt provide additional comfort and load support. For true ounce-counting backpackers, the framesheet can even be removed to further reduce the weight of the Crown V.C. 60.

To ensure an optimal fit, the Crown V.C. 60 is available in two torso sizes. The Regular (3660 cubic inches of storage capacity) fits torso lengths ranging from 18"-21" and the Long (4000 cu in) fits 21"-25" torsos. An adjustable sternum strap and load-lifter straps provide fine-tuned fit adjustment.

A large, lidless main compartment provides ample storage capacity and a roll-down, cinch-tight spindrift collar protects the contents of the packbag while keeping weight to a minimum. Lightweight integrated Line-Loc compression cord keeps gear securely in place. A large front stuff-it pocket serves as an additional storage space and twin side mesh pockets are perfect for water bottles or other gear. Integrated attachment points on the hipbelt serve as external gear lash points. The Granite Gear Line-Loc lid (sold separately) is available as an additional storage pocket and provider of further packbag protection.

The Granite Gear Crown V.C. 60 internal frame backpack is available in your choice of sizes.

Great Lightweight Pack

Likes

I was looking for a pack with a great lightweight/capacity ratio. This pack meets that need. Over the years backpacking with heavy packs and heavy gear, my knees are given me problems. So to continue with this sports for years to come, I needed to do something. This pack gets me one more step closer to lightweight/minimalist backpacking at a reasonable price.

The outside big blue mash pocket is fantastic, It's big and can really hold a lot of gear.

Dislikes

Nothing really that I didn't like. I do hope that Granite Gear can make a hybrid of the Crown and the Leopard. I love the rounded support frame on the Leopard and all the pockets and lighter materials of the Crown

It's been really great so far. It has everything I need and nothing I don't. I love the huge main pocket and the stretch pockets on the outside. I like the compression strap system too. I especially love the fact that it is super light and surprisingly comfortable.

Dislikes

No hipbelt pockets for my snacks. However you can buy one separately.

Extremely light-weight backpack. It can handle loads up to about 20 pounds very well. Very comfortable. I have used it on two short (2 day) backpacking trips now and really enjoyed it.

Dislikes

There is no hydration bladder pocket. Since the frame is only a thin sheet of plastic it bulges out when you stuff the bag tight. This causes the bag to be a little uncomfortable in the middle of your back. As long as you don't stuff things in too tight then you are good to go.

The product is extremely light and has a huge capacity compared to its weight! It is also able to fit in aircraft overhead compartments and the moisture wicking backpanel is really good. After a full day of hiking and rock scrambling, I couldn't see any sweat stains on the back panel or any tears or abrasions on the outer layer though I scraped it against a few rocks while squeezing through.

Dislikes

The roll top is really troublesome (takes really long to get stuff in and out of the main compartment). The load transferring capabilities of the hip belt seems to be minimal, I could feel that if I put any more stuff in, it would get quite uncomfortable on the shoulder straps.

Light, strong and very comfortable. packed over 30 pounds in it an even fit a bear bin in too. I have slim hips but am tall so the separate hip belt sizing was a plus.

Love this pack! Load transfer was great! Hip belt is amazingly comfortable. I really liked the roll top closure. You can reach the outside stretch pockets while the pack is on. Overall great design and quality. Very comfortable even when loaded to the max.
