Ultra-light and ultra-comfortable, the Granite Gear Crown3 60 pack has an adaptable design, innovative suspension system, and weighs in at 2.5 pounds or less! Able to carry up to 35 pounds comfortably, this pack is ideal for ounce-counting backpackers and thru-hikers.
Equipped with Granite Gear's V.C. (Vapor Current) Mark 3 Frame System, the pack employs a compression molded polyethylene frame sheet that has reinforcement channels and die-cut holes to minimize weight without sacrificing structural integrity. The frame sheet works in combination with the molded foam back panel to provide load stability and support an efficient load transfer for up to 35 pounds. Ventilation channels in the molded foam provide airflow and help keep you cool. If you're not using the pack at the weight capacity, the frame sheet can be removed to bring the pack's weight down to just 2 pounds! A removable aluminum stay is available to increase the load capacity by 8 pounds (sold separately). Padded shoulder straps and a padded, size-adjustable hipbelt further enhance comfort and stability.
To ensure an optimal fit, the pack is available in Short (fits torso lengths ranging from 15"-18"), Regular (18"-21" torsos), and Long (21"-24" torsos) size options. An adjustable sternum strap and load-lifter straps provide fine-tuned fit adjustment.
The top-loading 3660 cubic inch-capacity packbag is accessed through a wide-opening roll-top entry. A top lid offers additional storage and can be removed entirely to save on weight. Inside the main bag, a sleeve and ports make the pack hydration compatible, through a hydration system is sold separately. Lightweight compression straps on the sides and front let you cinch down the packbag to keep contents safely stowed. A large front shove-it pocket serves as an additional storage space and twin side pockets have a cinch closure and are perfect for water bottles or other gear. Large zippered hipbelt pockets keep valuables and essentials close at hand. Elastic water bottle holders on the harness, gear loops on the lid, and tool loops on the pack add to myriad of attachment options.
The pack's lid offers additional carry options depending on your needs. When in camp, it can be combined with the removeable hipbelt for use as a lumbar pack during day hikes or summit attempts. You can also attach it to the front harness for weight distribution and easy access to important items.
