A lightweight, feature-rich day hiking option, the 1526 cubic inch-capacity Gregory Citro 25 has a ventilated back system, convenient organizational features, and its own integrated hydration system.

The pack’s VaporSpan suspension utilizes a 4mm spring steel frame and HDPE framesheet to provide lightweight structure. Ventilated EVA foam in the harness, adjustable hipbelt, and lumbar padding offers cushioned, breathable stability.

In addition to the panel-loading main compartment, there is a front stretch pocket and dual side stretch mesh pockets. Zippered hipbelt pockets keep small essentials close at hand.

Other features include side compression straps, trekking pole attachments, a soft-lined electronics pocket, and a sunglasses quick-stow feature on the harness. A separate zippered pocket houses an included 3D Hydro reservoir. This BPA-free hydration system has a rubberized fill port and a built-in handle that provide convenience when refilling. Three-dimensional construction allows the reservoir to fit more comfortably inside your pack than traditional unstructured reservoirs. A magnetic bite valve delivers an excellent flow rate and secures to the pack’s magnetized sternum strap to keep the drinking hose at the ready but out of your way when not in use.

  • Magnetic sternum strap allows for one handed magnetic buckling of strap and integrated magnetic linkage for the DryLock bit valve
  • Sunglass quickstow system on shoulder harness allows a quick, secure and scratch-free way to store your shades on the go
  • Dual zippered hipbelt pockets for quick access items on the trail

Great pack

Extremely Comfortable

The hip belt and shoulder straps are, just like almost every Gregory pack I've worn, extremely comfortable. The mesh pockets are very stretchy and can hold a lot of gear. The back ventilation works well, too. The water bladder is quite nice and extremely easy to clean and dry--perhaps the best I've ever used.

Dislikes

Because of the curvature of the pack, which really does help with ventilation and comfort, it does cause packing issues when the water bladder is filled to capacity. If you need all 25 liters for gear and you want to use the included bladder, then you might want to opt for the next size up. On one trip, I decided to carry water bottles in the side pockets because the bladder took up too much space I needed for my gear.

I spent a lot of time researching Gregory daypacks before going with the Citro, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The Citro combines the "Vaporspan" trampoline suspension of the Salvo line with the dual compression straps (25l and 30l versions only) and included hydration bladder of the Inertia line, then adds dual trekking pole/ice tool bungees to create a feature-stuffed daypack that can handle anything you can throw at it. I also found it in a cool mustard yellow that is unlike any other pack I've seen.

Dislikes

Could be a little bit lighter, but then it wouldn't have the rich feature set that makes it such a standout pack.
