The iconic Hardrock Hundred Endurance Run takes place high in the San Juan mountains of Colorado each July and the Ultimate Direction Hardrocker Vest has the durability and feature set that is ideal for the demands of that "wild and tough" endeavor.
The pack is constructed of stretch Tech Denim and lightweight coated nylon, giving it a unique, stylish aesthetic but, more importantly, also making it highly durable. Breathable mesh in the harness and backpanel help to cut down on weight and keep heat build-up to a minimum. To ensure a proper fit, the vest is available in Small (23"-32" chest measurement), Medium (30"-39"), and Large (37"-46") size options. NOTE: This measurement should be taken at the bottom of the ribcage and the pack will fit smaller when filled with gear. An integrated Comfort Cinch system provides on-the-go fit adjustability across the small of your back without applying undue pressure to your lat muscles. Dual sternum straps with sliding adjustability help you further fine-tune fit.
There are two large main compartments stacked on top of each other that together offer 12 liters of storage capacity. The exterior stretch compartment has top "always open" access. A larger zippered compartment underneath has plenty of room for a hydration system (system not included) or other clothes and gear. It also houses an integrated rainfly that can be used if and when weather takes a turn for the worse. There's also a small zippered pocket near the bottom of the back of the pack that is ideal for storing small valuable that may call for quick access. A zig-zag upper bungee attachment system is a perfect spot for securing gloves, discarded layers, or other items you want to keep even more readily accessible.
Up front, you'll find an abundance of convenient pockets. One large drawstring-closure front harness pocket safely stows an included 500ml Body Bottle for on-the-go hydration. There are two small stretch pockets situated in front of that pocket and in front of the zippered, protective pocket on the left side of the harness. Lower on each side of the harness are larger stretch pocket, one small zippered pocket, and two sizable zippered lateral pockets.
Other features include a safety whistle integrated into one of the sternum strap buckles, articulating and removable safety beacon pockets (beacons not included), and "snap down" attachments that allow you to conveniently carry foldable trekking poles up front (poles not included).
