Description

Created with input from Karl Meltzer who has more 100 mile ultra wins than anyone in history the Hoka One One Men's Speedgoat 3 trail running shoe offers technical performance on challenging terrain and support and cushioning for high mileage.

With midsole volume and deep EVA midsole cushioning that far exceeds most standard running shoes Hoka One One shoes provide enhanced cushioning and shock absorption. While visually this looks bulky the performance-enhancing cushioning is actually extremely lightweight. Additionally a rockered geometry with a low heel-to-toe differential encourages an efficient rolling stride.

The synthetic upper offers both comfort and breathability while keeping weight to a minimum. Integrated "seatbelts" help to support your heel and comfortably hold your midfoot in place. With a 32mm heel and a 28mm forefoot the shoe has a 4mm drop. It weighs in at an average of 10.3 ounces per shoe (20.6 oz/pair).

The Vibram Megagrip rubber outsole offers excellent durability and utilizes multi-directional 5mm lugs and a trail-specific tread to deliver reliable traction.

The Hoka One One Men's Speedgoat 3 is available in your choice of colors and men's full and half sizes.

  • Open engineered mesh construction to maximize breathability and support
  • Reinforced TPU midfoot overlays to help ensure a secure fit
  • Midfoot cage construction designed for stability and lockdown/foot capture
  • Oversize EVA midsole provides lightweight cushioning
  • Wider platform designed to provide a more stable base on varied terrain
  • CMEVA foam midsole absorbs impact points and offers stable footing
  • Vibram Megagrip hi-traction outsole with 5mm lugs
  • Multidirectional lugs for supreme grip on varied terrain
  • More durable outsole design
  • 32mm heel and 28mm forefoot
  • 4mm drop

Super Comfortable, Terrible Build Quality

Likes

- They're comfortable even on the longest runs/hikes. - They're very light weight for the amount of cushioning.

Dislikes

- The Vibram sole started literally peeling off after maybe 50 miles on-trail. For the price, they should last MUCH longer. - The foam outsole is crumbling. I have to cut pieces off after each use to try to minimize future damage.

Best Looking Color-way!!!

Likes

Good looking, understated colorway of the bunch, not too chunky, excellent support, and very breathable. Order from ENWILD, unlike their competitors, these were delivered within two days, unbelievable!! Oh, did I mentioned free shipping?

Dislikes

Nothing to dislike. Though do size up half a size , and for wider feet, go up a whole size.

Exactly what I need

Likes

I purchased these for section hiking the AT. I've been using the Hoka Torrent and wanted a tighter toe box. These shoes are perfect. I also used them on a recent Spartan race and they held up great, no grip or foot issues at all. I highly recommend these shoes for trail running, hiking, spartan/mud races, etc.

Dislikes

I swapped out the laces for adjustable laces. I wish Hoke (and all brands) would switch to adjustable lace systems as an option, but the aftermarket laces work great.

Best rebound from Altra

Likes

After several problems with cheaply made Altra trail runners.... foot, knee and shin pain,, defects etc... I tried the Hoka Speedgoat2 and instantly fell in love with them because all the pains immediately went away. I upgraded to the Speedgoat3 when they came out and still the same great feel and quality. I have 3 pairs now and wear them for hiking, work and casual. People say that Hoka's are not wide enough like Altras (lol) but if you take out the insoles from each brand of shoe and lay them on top of one another... you will find that Altras are only 1/8" wider than the Hoka.

Dislikes

It would be a bonus if they added velcro in the back of shoe to attach gaitors.
