By combining maximal running shoe-style cushioning a high-cut supportive upper and a fully waterproof eVent membrane the Hoka One One Women's Sky Kaha WP is a lightweight boot that is sure to appeal to female thru-hikers and ounce-counting backpackers.

The boot's upper is durable full-grain leather. A waterproof/breathable eVent membrane ensures that your feet stay dry and comfortable.

A high-volume midsole has a plush EVA top layer and a second layer of durable responsive foam. This combination maintains its structure even after day after day of long miles. An Active Foot Frame enables your foot to settle into rather than sitting on top of that midsole providing support and stability without excessive weight or over-engineered structure. A rockered geometry encourages an efficient rolling stride.

The boot's durable Vibram MegaGrip outsole employs 5mm multi-directional lugs to promote excellent traction on all types of terrain.

Most comfortable boot I have ever hiked in. Have done two 10-11 mile hikes on Finger Lakes Branch Trails and two Adirondack high peaks (over 4000 ft.) with them One was an 8 mile round trip and another was a 15.4 mile backpack--no problem! Very good traction on steep bare rock. I trusted these doing rock scrambles.

Dislikes

Because the footprint of the bottom sole is wider under the arch, you may find your gaiters or microspikes don't fit, but the wider footprint probably helps with stability. Some slippage on mud with steep hills and ball-bearing type stones.
