The Hoka One One Women's Speedgoat 3 WP trail running shoe is a waterproof version of the celebrated shoe created directly with input from Karl Meltzer who has more 100 mile ultra wins than anyone in history. It offers technical performance on challenging terrain and support and cushioning for high mileage.
With midsole volume and deep EVA midsole cushioning that far exceeds most standard running shoes Hokas provide enhanced cushioning and shock absorption. While visually this looks bulky the performance-enhancing cushioning is actually extremely lightweight. Additionally a rockered geometry with a low heel-to-toe differential encourages an efficient rolling stride.
The synthetic upper offers both comfort and breathability while keeping weight to a minimum. In addition a SKYSHELL waterproof bootie and a gusseted tongue combine to keep out the elements and keep your foot dry and comfortable. Integrated "seatbelts" help to support your heel and comfortably hold your midfoot in place. With a 30mm heel and a 26mm forefoot the shoe has a 4mm drop. It weighs in at an average of 9.6 ounces per shoe (19.2 oz/pair).
The Vibram Megagrip rubber outsole offers excellent durability and utilizes multi-directional 5mm lugs and a trail-specific tread to deliver reliable traction.
