Use it as a backup solution

Weighs almost nothing! A good idea to have something like this in your pack as a contingency plan if your main water filter is not available.

Not the greatest tasting water, but we were glad to have them when my water filter was getting clogged last year

Name brand quality. I read up on all the chemical methods for water treatment that can remove viruses too. This ranks high! I hope I don't have to use these anytime soon. I guess we'll see.

Backup water purification

Simple backup purification. Each tablet filters a quart. Individually wrapped. Kills everything, including cryptosporidium if you wait the 4 hours. Weighs next to nothing, toss a few in my bag for pretty much every trip, whether it is in the backcountry or to a new city. Never know when you might need some drinkable water without trusting the source.

4 hours for FULL purification. This is the most stubborn of water parasites and such. Works better on clearer water, not freezing water. If you are in an absolute rush, it should be as effective as iodine within 30 minutes, but might taste bleach-y still.

Better than the iodine...if you can plan

No taste, no smell, no yellow color left behind in my Platypus. Will use these again.

You need to wait 4 hours for the product to work effectively. As long as you plan appropriately, this is OK.
