Description

The sleek, functional Kelty Redwing 32 is an excellent balance of storage capacity (1900 cubic inches), price, and performance. This versatile pack is a great option for day hiking or everyday use.

An HDPE framesheet equips the Redwing 32 with lightweight, reliable support. Hex mesh and strategic channeling on the backpanel allow warm air to escape so that you stay cooler while carrying weight. A streamlined waistbelt improves load stability and can be hidden away when not needed. Load lifter straps relieve stress on your shoulders and an adjustable sternum strap positions the shoulder straps across the chest to prevent chafing under the arms and on the shoulders. Side compression straps help you to cinch and secure the contents of the pack for optimal balance and load distribution.

The main packbag of the Redwing 32 is accessed through a large, zippered front entry that allows the entire face of the pack to open wide for convenient loading and unloading. An additional large pocket located on the front panel provides internal organizational options. Additional features include zippered side pockets, a stash pocket, an ice-axe loop, a carry handle, a hide-away daisy-chain attachment system, and dual mesh water bottle pockets. A lined interior pocket and built-in tube exit make the pack hydration system (sold separately) compatible.

Great value pack

Likes

Lots of pockets, easy access to content inside, feels durable, nicely padded shoulder straps, aesthetically pleasing design.

Dislikes

The padding on the back near the shoulder blades is somewhat awkwardly placed. Can feel like it's pressing in at times.

Great Smaller Redwing Pack

Likes

It is a great pack for backpacking weekend trips in the summer. Looks just like the Redwing 44 but a little smaller. It's very lightweight ( it weighed less than 2 lbs in my scale). Love the color and the front loading aspect of it.

Dislikes

I would like for it to have some webbing at the bottom just like the Redwing 44 and also an attachment clip on the stash front pocket.

I mostly love it!

Likes

It's really comfortable, the storage is amazing and I can fit a large bladder in the bag. I plan to use this a lot for overnight backpack trips. Right now it's the perfect winter hiking bag for me since I like to carry a lot of stuff for the dogs and I.

Dislikes

None of the pockets feel accessible to me without taking the bag off. This isn't a big deal to me but it's something I wish I knew before buying

Great day pack, nice orginization. Comfortable fit.

Likes

Lots of pockets, stretchy water bottle pockets, top entry/panel entry, really nice features.

Dislikes

I would have rated 5 stars if the front storage/stuff pocket had a hook on it that secured it to the main compartment of the pack as the Redwing 50. As it is, if you do not secure the top compression straps back, the pocket just flops about, unsecured. It would be much better if Kelty would only have put the hook on it.
