The Kelty Sine 20 Degree sleeping bag utilizes compressible, weather-resistant DriDown insulation and an innovative venting system to provide excellent 3-season backpacking performance.

Description

The Kelty Sine 20 Degree sleeping bag utilizes compressible, weather-resistant DriDown insulation and an innovative venting system to provide excellent 3-season backpacking performance.

Renowned for their efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel and, despite advances in synthetic materials, continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The one inherent weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet, but the 800-fill power DriDown featured in the Sine 20 Degree bag performs differently. Employing a unique, innovative polymer application, DriDown actually creates a hydrophobic finish on each individual plume of down, allowing the insulation to stay dry longer and dry faster if it should become wet. A 20D nylon Ripstop shell further protects the insulation against moisture.

Baffled construction eliminates cold spots, keeping outside air from reaching the interior of the bag. Draft tubes behind the anti-snag zippers, a full draft color, and an insulated hood enhance the thermal efficiency of the bag. A uniquely contoured zipper at the top of the bag allows easy entry and employs a two-way design to provide torso venting. A second zipper positioned lower on the bag serves as an additional venting option. An integrated pocket keeps backpacking pillows (not included) tucked beneath your head or allows ounce-counters to stuff clothes into the pocket in place of a pillow.

The Kelty Sine 20 Degree sleeping bag is available in Regular (fits up to 6' 0") and Long (up to 6' 6") lengths. A stuff sack and a mesh storage sack are included.

Comfort rated value

19 degree comfort rating. Foot ventilation. No zipper snags. Excellent value.

Dislikes

Top zipper doesn't open easily. Draw cord unwieldy.

Great bag, dumb zipper design

Likes

Kept me very warm on a 2-night backpacking trip where it was in the low 20s both nights. Puffs up nicely after being compressed all day in my pack.

Dislikes

I hate the zipper design on these Sine bags. Wish I would have gotten a bag with the good old fashioned zipper straight down the side. The foot vent zipper comes in handy, but the curved main zipper is just annoying.

Exceeded warmth expectations

Likes

--Very warm, especially for weight: slept a couple summer nights above 11,000 feet with lows in the 30s. I'm usually a cold sleeper but was too hot with long johns, standard hiking wool socks and Klymit insulated pad; didn't use hood but did use foot vent. --Lightweight --The foot vent increases comfort, moreso than the standard side zipper on other bags I've used, because your feet rest naturally on top of the bag. Moreover, with your feet out there is significantly increased range of motion. --Packs small with included compression stuff sack --Larger mesh storage sack included --Collar and hood are comfortable and keep out drafts (but I needed to open up as above)

Dislikes

--I found it a little more difficult to zip than the usual side zipper (but loved the foot vent, see above). Overall not sure what I think about the cross zipper yet. --Sized small: they claim regular fits up to six feet but I'm 5'11'' 180lbs and the regular was too constricting and my feet pressed against the bottom of the bag; had to exchange for a long which fits well and comfortably.

Great bag from kelty

Likes

I used to have the Kelty tuck 20 and I needed a better bag that would hold up better in colder wearther and the zipper to vent the feet is a great feature. And the bag is easy to get in and out of even with the half zipper opening
