The Kelty Sine 35 Degree sleeping bag utilizes compressible, weather-resistant DriDown insulation and an innovative venting system to provide excellent warm-weather backpacking performance.

Description

The Kelty Sine 35 Degree sleeping bag utilizes compressible, weather-resistant DriDown insulation and an innovative venting system to provide excellent warm-weather backpacking performance.

Renowned for their efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel and, despite advances in synthetic materials, continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The one inherent weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet, but the 800-fill power DriDown featured in the Sine 20 Degree bag performs differently. Employing a unique, innovative polymer application, DriDown actually creates a hydrophobic finish on each individual plume of down, allowing the insulation to stay dry longer and dry faster if it should become wet. A 20D nylon Ripstop shell further protects the insulation against moisture.

Baffled construction eliminates cold spots, keeping outside air from reaching the interior of the bag. Draft tubes behind the anti-snag zippers and an insulated hood enhance the thermal efficiency of the bag. A uniquely contoured zipper at the top of the bag allows easy entry and employs a two-way design to provide torso venting. A second zipper positioned lower on the bag serves as an additional venting option. An integrated pocket keeps backpacking pillows (not included) tucked beneath your head or allows ounce-counters to stuff clothes into the pocket in place of a pillow.

The Kelty Sine 35 Degree sleeping bag is available in Regular (fits up to 6' 0") and Long (up to 6' 6") lengths. A stuff sack and a mesh storage sack are included.

Love it

Likes

Stuff sack is built in, 2 oblique zippers work well, fits and feels good.

Dislikes

Nothing to dislike. If you are a cold sleeper you will need to add clothing layers and/or a ground pad with a good R rating for temoeratures below 45.

Affordable, good quality down bag

Likes

I used this sleeping bag on a 2-week thru-hike of the Ouachita Trail in March and really liked it. I was surprised that it came with a compression stuff sack, but it does fluff right back up each night. I would shake the bag to give it some air flow whenever I took it out for the evening, and I never had an issue with down migration. I always used my silk liner with it, but mostly for sleeping bag cleanliness. I was always toasty warm tucked inside the 800-fill down, which is treated to be more water-resistant, so condensation or some errant drops from my water bottle were no problem. Also, love the separate "feet vent" zipper!

Dislikes

I never totally got used to the arching main zipper that is supposed to be ergonomic or something for the way your arm moves across the bag. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I still prefer a normal straight-down-the-side zipper. I like being able to spread the bag out more on warmer nights, and the zipper design on this bag almost gave me a sense of claustrophobia because I couldn't just open the entire side of it. Hence the 4-star score.

Great sleeping bag

Likes

* Warm enough without being too warm * Not restrictive but not bulky either * Quality down packs small (and takes up less space in the closet) * Zipper arrangement not weird in actual use

Dislikes

None so far.
