Comfort and protection make the Lowa Men's Explorer II GTX Mid hiking boot a great choice for hiking and lightweight backpacking in a wide variety of trail conditions. This waterproof/breathable boot has a hybrid leather and fabric upper for minimal break-in time, a supportive midsole, and an ultra-grippy rubber sole.
The boot's upper uses split leather for long-term durability with fabric in key places for comfortable flex right out of the box. Passing showers and wet trail conditions are no match for the GORE-TEX waterproof/breathable lining. The lacing system incorporates independently adjustable lacing zones in the forefoot and upper so you can dial in the fit. A TPU heel cap extends the durability.
Underfoot, a supportive but soft PU midsole and cushioning heel wedge are lightweight for easy hiking but offer the best of modern comfort technology. The flexible construction allows for natural ankle movement as you traverse varied terrain while still providing supportive protection. A wicking Climate Control insole conforms to your foot to enhance fit and comfort. The boot's Vibram Rock Trac Evo outsole uses the MegaGrip rubber compound and a triangle-shaped tread design for exceptional slip protection on wet or dry ground.
