Effectively balancing price and performance, the Marmot Catalyst 3P tent provides backpackers with a roomy interior, breathability, and ease of set-up at an affordable price. Marmot even adds value by throwing in a protective footprint.

The Catalyst 3P offers 40 square feet of interior space and vestibules in front of each door provide more than 18 combined square feet of additional weather-protected storage space. Interior mesh pockets provide out-of-the-way storage options to maximize available floor space and enhance livability.

Three aluminum poles provide the Catalyst 3P with support and freestanding structure. Integrated clips and a pitch-enhancing sleeve for the single brow pole allow the body of the tent to attach quickly, easily, and securely to the poles. The freestanding design enables you to set up the tent and then move it around your chosen campsite to find the optimal rock-and-root-free position.

Mesh panels allow air to circulate and combat condensation while the weatherproof floor and full coverage rainfly combine to protect the interior of the tent from the elements. Taped seam construction throughout the tent bolsters weather protection. A custom-fit footprint is included to further protect the floor of the Marmot Catalyst 3P from sharp objects, mud and ground water.

Nice tent

Great 3P tent overall for value

Likes

Fits 3 sleeping pads well and easy to set up. Stormed the first night we used it and everyone stayed dry. Pole design works well for head space and comfortable inside. For the value, it's was tough to find another tent that provided the space, low weight, and full rainfly. And Marmot makes quality products. Look forward to more camping nights with it for the family

Dislikes

Wish footprint would connect with more than just grommet, but it's a nice addition as part of the tent for the value.

Great overall construction and perfect for backpacking.

Likes

Comes with a "footprint" tarp which saves unnecessary wear on the tent bottom.

Dislikes

The fly could be larger to better protect the tent during rain.

I compared this to the Marmot Limelight 3P and it was pretty close in all respects except for just being a tad smaller in square footage and vestibule size. All reviews spoke very highly of this tent. Our Boy Scout troop bought these to go along with the Limelights we purchased. We expect this tent to perform just as well.

Sensational!

Weathered 2 thunderstorms so far! Dry. All the features called out in the video make this a fun, comfortable, and versatile shelter. I like the privacy aspect of having one side not mesh if the rain fly is not used. Asymmetric lines appeal.

Dislikes

Love it all, but did wonder before purchase about the mounting envelopes for the brow pole; and, seen in person, they do look possibly a potential wear point. For infrequent use I feel they will be substantial enough. No points off.

As Expected

Have only set up inside but everything seems just as I expected. Tent is easy to set up, pack away. Small packed size relative to size of tent. Looks great, quality seems top notch. Can't wait to try it out this summer/fall!

My partner is upset at me for not getting a glamping tent...
