A long-lived favorite of hikers and walkers, the Mountainsmith Tour Classic lumbar pack offers excellent organizational and a comfortable carry. It’s constructed of burly nylon Kodra fabric and is available in throwback heritage colors.
The pack’s waistbelt has a wide wrap-around style and utilizes an ergonomic pull system to provide on-the-go adjustment. The foam-padded backpanel and waistbelt provide more support than comparable lumbar packs and remains comfortable to wear even on hot days.
Larger than traditional lumbar packs, the pack offers 640 cubic inches of carrying capacity but still weighs just 1 pound, 8 ounces. Unlike full-blown daypacks it is compact enough that your movements remain uninhibited.
In addition to the large main compartment, the pack has a zippered internal security pocket, a backpanel stash pocket, and a zippered front panel pocket. Reinforced side pockets accommodate up to 32 ounce bottles (bottles not included). A bungee attachment on the front of the pack allows you to carry a jacket, sweatshirt or additional gear.
With varied carrying options, the versatile pack can also be used as a shoulder bag, a briefcase or as an add-on pocket for a full-size backpack. Optional Mountainsmith Strapettes (sold separately) can be employed to serve as shoulder straps and provide extra support when heavy loads are being carried. A rain cover (sold separately) is available to protect the pack in inclement weather.
