A throwback to an early Mountainsmith design, the lightweight Mountain Shelter LT tarp tent provides effective weather-protection for up to two backpackers. Focused on weight-saving packability, the Mountain Shelter LT pitches easily with the use of two trekking poles (not included). With a packed weight of just 1 pound, 15.5 ounces, it can also serve as a spacious solo tent.
The Mountain Shelter LT provides 54 square feet of protected interior space. A rear vent allows air to circulate and combats condensation build-up. The lightweight, waterproof Si-Nylon Ripstop fabric boasts an impressive tear-strength ratio while keeping packed weight to a minimum. A zippered front door grants easy access and ensures enclosed protection. NOTE: A minimalist shelter, the Mountain Shelter LT does not include a floor.
A dual-peak design allows the Mountain Shelter LT to be erected with two adjustable trekking poles (not included). The steep pitch of the shelter effectively sheds both rain and snow, making the Mountain Shelter LT surprisingly weather-resistant. Multiple stake out loops and included V-stakes let you pitch the shelter securely.
