Description

Ensuring load-hauling performance, a removable PE framesheet works in tandem with 1/2" aluminum support stay. Dual-density padding on the backpanel, shoulder straps, and contoured waistbelt aid in load stabilization and effectively transfer weight to your hips. A channeled design in the backpanel offers ventilation and allows warm to escape so you remain cool and comfortable. Adjustable shoulder straps, load-lifter straps, and an adjustable sternum strap further allow you to dial in fit for the most comfortable carry. Note that the pack best fits 14"-17" torso lengths. Overall durability is provided by the 210D Robic HT nylon material. This fabric has an impressive strength-to-weight ratio that allows the pack to comfortably carry up to 45 pounds while weighing in at just 2 pounds, 10 ounces!

The pack incorporates a number of convenient access features. A roll-top lid saves weight and provides wide open access to the main packbag. The large compartment has a 2810 cubic inch standard capacity but can expand to accommodate an additional 365 cubic inches of gear. Twin vertical pockets on the front of the pack swallow up gear and layers, keeping them at the ready. A U-shaped zipper allows you to peel back the face of the pack to gain quick access to the interior of the main compartment. Side mesh pockets are perfect for water bottles or other gear.

Other features include compression straps, a safety whistle integrated into the sternum strap buckle, daisy chain attachment points, a tool/trekking pole loop, and zippered waistbelt pockets. An internal lined sleeve and tube exit port make the pack hydration system compatible (system not included).

This monster of a bag was an exchange from the Deuter Trail Pro 30 sl women’s 2019 pack. It is absolutely huge. I was so exited to get my hands on this pack and put it to the test. First off, i specifically chose this pack not only because it’s unique u-zip but the mere aesthetics. It has a great color-way. It claims a 45lb maximum carry which is perfect because I carry everything but the kitchen sink. In my load I had five 32oz Nalgene water bottles, a large 11x8x6 toiletry bag, a diaper clutch style Bag, headlamp, gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, pouch 1: instant coffee, tea bags, electrolyte powders, water treatment tablets, etc and pouch 2: several cliff bars, kind bars, larabars, rx bars and applesauce squeezers, etc. My loadout, bag included, 27lbs with room to spare. A 32 oz Nalgene will not only be swallowed up in the side mesh pockets but in the front vertical pockets as well. I hauled this pack around for four days. Day 1: 3miles. Day 2: 6miles. Day 3: 6miles. Day 4: 4 miles. This backpack was NOT comfortable, but I was far from home and had to deal. I rearranged gear each and everyday. I really wanted this pack to suite all my needs. I liked the colors. I liked the materials. I liked the front vertical pockets. I like the daisy chain. I like the roll top.

Dislikes

I was not crazy about the sternum strap attachment ends. They are difficult to adjust with the pack on. I prefer a sternum strap that slides and the hip belt pockets were a snug fit for my iPhone XR. Of course I exchanged this pack for yet another bag. Hopefully 4th time a charm.
