Description

Incredibly durable, packed with numerous organizational features, and offering over 4800 cubic-inches of storage capacity, the Mystery Ranch Terraframe 80 internal frame backpack is an absolute backcountry workhorse.

Balancing weight and strength, the pack utilizes a carbon fiber frame to deliver maximum load stability while still providing performance-enhancing torsional flex. The rear panel can actually be pulled away from the body of the pack to create an overload shelf. Excess gear can be safely stowed and comfortably carried without eating into internal storage capacity. Built-in compression makes certain that contents stay secure and stabilized. Thick padding in the shoulder straps, backpanel, and waistbelt offers supportive cushioning. Adjustability throughout the suspension system, an adjustable sternum strap, and load-lifter straps combine to let you dial in fit and maximize balance. To further ensure a proper fit, the pack is available in a variety of sizes that accommodate differing torso lengths (see the Size Chart for recommended fit range).

The top-loading main compartment has a spindrift collar that helps to keep contents protected and can expand to accommodate extra layers or additional gear. Two vertical zippers allow quick-access to the interior of the packbag and together allow the whole face of the pack to fold open for "wide open" access. A separate lower compartment is ideal for a sleeping bag or other gear you might want to keep separate from the contents of the main compartment. It has a unique horizontal zipper that makes it really convenient for packing and unpacking.

Other features include two large front zippered pockets, zippered lid pockets, and stretch side pockets. Daisy chains on the front of the pack and on the lid provide additional places to lash gear. Side, front, and lower compression straps aid in load stabilization and offer another option for external gear lashing. Burly 330D Lite Plus Cordura fabric and sturdy YKK zippers deliver long-term durability and all-condition reliability. A lined sleeve against the frame has built-in tube-routing ports that make the pack hydration compatible (hydration system not included).

The Mystery Ranch Terraframe 80 backpack is available in your choice of size options.

Great pack for heavy or bulky loads!

Likes

Nice access to all storage compartments. Plenty of webbing and compression straps for attaching gear or securing smaller or larger bulky loads. The versatility with the expandable frame gives endless options of gear placement, leaving more room inside pack for organization if needed. Adjustable frame length, shoulder straps and waist belt contour to the body perfectly. Heavy built slim design makes it perfect for a roomy overnight pack or ample week long workhorse.

Dislikes

Going for a quality brand, I would have preferred an American made product. Still a nicely made pack.

High Quality Load Hauler

Likes

I have used this back for all my backcountry trips this year. The build and materials are top notch. The overload function is fantastic for carrying awkward and/or heavy loads whilst keeping the weight close to the body. The sleeping bag compartment is neat and the two big front pockets make for quick access. I mostly used the "suit case" opening which is great for packing and organising the pack. Overall an excellent heavy load pack.

Dislikes

1) I'm fairly short and large, I ordered the Large size but I would have liked to be able to shorten the torso another inch. 2) While the material is water resistant, it is not water proof and the pack gets quite heavy when wet. A rain cover would have been nice for the price.

Good backpack

Likes

The materials and workmanship are first rate. The carbon frame makes this backpack feel extremely light weight (good way).

Dislikes

However, there is only one negative, the hip belt strap goes through a loop at the end. This limits the amount the belt can be loosened. So if you have a big waist line like I do, you better try it out in person to see if it fits you.

Mystery Ranch Terraframe 80 pack

Likes

I used this pack back on Friday 6/22,23,24 /18, when I went to Camp Keowa in Ten Mile River Scout Camps in Narrowsburg, New York. It is very good. Where was a pack like this when I needed it thirty eight years ago. It is a combination of internal and external frame. And the pack itself is very roomy. But what I love about it. I can put my sleeping pad and cot in between the pack and frame. I have yet to see how it holds my tent in between the pack and frame. Tell MYSTERY RANCH to keep up the good work.

Dislikes

No dislikes whatsoever. But it was a bit pricey. It could of been one hundred and change.
