Designed with input from world-class ultra runner Rob Krar, the Nathan VaporKrar 12L 2.0 hydration vest offers a chafe-free, apparel-like fit, includes a 1.6L insulated hydration reservoir, and incorporates the storage necessary for long days on the trail.

The lightweight, breathable and moisture-wicking fabrication of the vest hugs your body to ensure a movement-mirroring fit and a bounce-free carry. Strategically drilled vents allow warm air to escape and help to keep weight to a minimum. Even with the hydration system, the vest weighs just 15 ounces! Dual sliding sternum straps let you dial in fit without getting in the way or causing undue pressure.

The 1.6L hydration bladder has an hourglass shape that keeps bouncing and “sloshing” to a minimum. It has an easy-fill opening and a quick-release drinking hose that makes the system a cinch to refill and clean. The high-flow bite valve ensures leak-proof performance and a high flow rate.

The pack's large rear main compartment offers 732 cubic inches of storage and includes a dedicated internal pocket for the secure carry of the bladder. An integrated compression system allows you to cinch down contents and stabilize your load. Small stretch stash pockets on the harness and dual vertical zippered harness pockets provide additional options for stowing gels, electrolytes, a cellphone, or other essentials. Reflective hits increase low-light visibility.

The Nathan VaporKrar 12L 2.0 running vest is available in your choice of size options. The Small best fits 36"-38” chest sizes (measured at the sternum), the Medium best fits 39"-41”, the Large best fits 42"-44”, and the Xlarge best fits 45"-47” chests.

Perfect trail companion

I’m using this for hiking rather than running and it’s nearly perfect for a well supplied day hike. Utilizing 600mL soft flasks in the front pockets I can carry 3.2L of water in total comfort and still have room for a lot of additional gear. In addition to water (it’s AZ so I carry a lot of that) I typically have a first aid kit, phone, bag of trail mix, energy bars, sunglasses, chap stick, hand sanitizer, sunblock, hat, and occasionally a rain shell. This thing is stuffed to capacity, but it’s always comfortable and the front pockets are extremely handy.

Dislikes

I wish the sides had useable pockets like the 4L version. These were great for having access to small items without having to take off the vest. Also, I strongly recommend you take an actual sternum measurement with a flexible tape and compare that to the size chart. I should have gone down a size from my assumption. This isn’t an issue for hiking, but if I were to run with this vest it would bounce quite a bit.
