Description

Effectively balancing weight, livability, and affordability, the NEMO Firefly 2P tent delivers reliable 3-season backpacking performance at a minimum weight of just 3 pounds!

Measuring 88" x 50" at its widest point and tapering to 45" at the feet, the tent offers 29 square feet of interior space. This volume combined with a 41" peak height makes the tent suitable for up to two backpackers and also allows it to serve as a roomy solo shelter. The tent has two doors for easy entry and vestibules in front of each door provide a total of 17.2 square feet of external storage space. Integrated pockets further maximize interior space by allowing you to store clothes and gear off of the floor.

A hubbed aluminum pole system makes set-up easy. A second aluminum pole crosses the top of the tent to help to increase the verticality of the sidewalls and maximize overall livability. No-see-um mesh sidewalls ward off insects and maximize airflow to cut down on condensation. The 15D Sil/PeU ripstop rainfly and 68D PU polyester floor have a weatherproof coating to help keep the interior of the tent dry. A custom-fit footprint (sold separately) is available to further protect the floor of the tent from sharp objects, mud and ground water.

The NEMO Firefly 2P tent includes a unique Divvy Sack for ease of transport and storage. The 2-stage stuff sack allows backpackers to share the carry weight of the tent.

  • Hubbed aluminum pole system
  • Tapered floor plan saves while increasing room at the head
  • Rainfly securely snaps onto poles for easy tensioning and increased weather protection
  • Privacy mesh allows for full visibility of the night sky while limiting visibility into the tent
  • Divvy Sack included

Not for me

Likes

light weight Easy set up Bombproof floor Spent two nights in the tent. One night had steady rain for an hour or two. The tent is very easy to set up. It's very sturdy and well made. Nemo really paid attention to detail with it.

Dislikes

Ventilation No see um Mesh In my opinion this tent does not vent well enough with the fly on. On the night it rained I had both of the door vents opened up. The temperature was in the low 60's. When I woke up in the morning at around 5:30 am it was stifling in the tent. There was condensation on the inside of the fly and it was dripping on the main tent body. There was also a small amount of water in one corner of the tent. Now please keep in mind I live in north Alabama and the humidity here is bad. Had I not had the rainfly all the way down I'm sure it would have been fine. If you live in a less humid area I'm sure this tent would be perfect. Unfortunately for me, I do most of my hiking here and there's just not enough ventilation for this to be a viable tent for me. The only other problem I had with it was there were a couple of small runs in the mesh when I first unboxed it. Honestly I doubt there would be a real problem, because I didn't notice anymore runs after spending two nights in it. Wish I lived a bit farther north because I think it would be a perfect tent then.
