Tent or shade shelter? With the NEMO Switch 2P tent, it's both! This versatile design creates a livable freestanding tent with a large vestibule that can be converted into an awning, or the entire rainfly can become a shelter offering UPF 50+ sun protection.
Measuring 88" x 51", the tent offers just over 31 square feet of interior space. With a 57" peak height and unique pole structure that creates near-vertical walls, this tent is incredibly roomy for up to two backpackers or campers. The tent has two doors for easy entry and exit. The rainfly creates vestibules for both doors, but the larger of the two creates a voluminous entryway with plenty of gear storage and can be converted into an awning (tarp poles sold separately). Combined, the vestibules offer over 27 square feet of external storage space.
The pole structure utilizes two aluminum poles--one hubbed to create the height and corners needed for the awning and sunshade--to provide freestanding support. No-see-um mesh on the canopy wards off insects and maximizes airflow. The 68D polyester rainfly and floor have a weatherproof coating to help keep the interior of the tent dry. A custom-fit footprint (sold separately) can be used to further protect the floor of the tent from sharp objects, mud, and ground water. To use as a sunshade, just deploy the rainfly and the poles without the tent. The Switch 2P is also compatible with the Victory Patio blanket (sold separately) for a carpet-like base.
