Description

A unique mix of traditional craftsmanship and modern fabrication the Ortovox Men's Fleece Loden Hoody offers excellent lightweight protection and breathability for alpinists and skiers.

The main exterior fabric is a blend of Merino fleece and polyester giving the jacket great stretch and breathability. On the interior 100% Merino wool provides next-to-skin comfort and effective moisture-management and odor control. Sustainable felted Loden panels on the front of the jacket harken back to earlier days of Austrian alpinism and give the jacket a unique aesthetic that is equal parts classic and modern. A close-fitting hood extends protective coverage.

Other features include elastic cuffs a bonded upper arm pocket and a zippered chest pocket.

Available in your choice of size and color options the Ortovox Men's Fleece Loden Hoody has an athletic ergonomic fit that is best worn over low-profile baselayers. It also allows you to wear a protective hardshell over top of it.

I really wanted to love this jacket.

Likes

First, a bit about me: 5’7” 150lbs and 39” chest, 32” waist. I ordered a medium which fit generally, but I bet I am between a small and medium. This jacket is stylish and made of quality materials and construction. It is a solid medium weight and would keep you warm in cold temp when moderately active.

Dislikes

The hood is oddly shaped. When zipped up, large gaps are created at the ears with no way to tighten. I assume room was added for over a helmet, but that doesn’t work either. The patches of fabric on the inside makes it difficult to tell if it is entirely wool lined. For the cost I would expect hand warmer pockets and thumb holes.
