Osprey 65 L/XL (Black)
Likes
Overall, the pack is great, and you'll see the reasons for the 4-star rating. -Its very comfortable and rides nice. -It adjusts very easily, and the wide torso range is very nice for fine tuning the pack to your body.
Dislikes
-I don't like that they did away with the lid converting to a day pack on the new model. It was a very nice feature on the previous version. -For me, the hip belt pouches are too far back, and it makes it a pain to get into them and to see what you're trying to grab out of them or put in them. They are also on the smaller side, especially compared to the pouches on the new Atmos 65. The Atmos 65's are significantly bigger. -The sleeping bag separator flap has ladder slider "buckles" instead of actual buckles making it a pain to weave them in and out whenever you want to add or remove the flap. It also worth noting that the flap isn't actually removable. 1/2 is sewn into the bag and the other 1/2 has the ladder sliders. -The color of the black bag is actually black and dark green. If you look closely at the color of the lid in the picture and the side panels as well as a few other spots you can see the color difference. -The bag size to me feels small for the claimed size. The L/XL is actually supposed to be 68L but I feel its more like 60. There's still plenty of room in there though for most trips. -All the dislikes above are fine with me and are more cosmetic preferences than anything. I would have given the bag a 5 star review but the reason I didn't is because of the CLAIMED WEIGHT of this bag. It is advertised as 4.97lbs and even the sticker on the bag says 4.97lbs. When I weighed the bag at home it came out at 5lbs 6.1oz! This is absolutely ridiculous and an issue that Osprey needs to correct. This bag is almost a 1/2 pound more than they advertise it at. The rain fly itself weighs 4 ounces so if you remove that it brings it down to 5lbs 2.1oz. I probably should have only given it 3 stars for this, but I didn't want to bash a decent product to much.
