Description

Ideal for fast-and-light thru-hikes or lightweight backpacking when you've got a lot of gear but still want to keep weight to a minimum, the Osprey Exos 58 pack offers tons of storage capacity and comfortably carries up to 35 pounds while weighing only 3 pounds!

A lightweight 4mm powder coated LightWire frame combines with a 3D tensioned breathable mesh backpanel to equip the pack with support and ventilation. Seamless layered mesh on the Exoform shoulder harness and hipbelt provides comfortable padding at minimal weight. Further enhancing fit, the hipbelt utilizes an ErgoPull closure that draws tension along the top and the bottom of the belt. An adjustable sternum strap and load-lifter straps allow you to make on-the-go fine-tuning.

Accommodating users of different dimensions, the pack is available in two sizes: Small/Medium best fits torsos ranging from 17"-20.5" in length and Large/Xlarge accommodates torsos ranging from 19.5"-23". The storage capacity varies based on size, as well: Small/Medium offers 3539 cubic inches and the Large/Xlarge has a 3722 cubic inch capacity. Each size has a short range of torso adjustability via a cam-lock system that's easy to access and operate for a truly dialed-in fit.

The top-loading packbag is accessed through a removable, floating lid with dual zippered pockets. An integrated FlapJacket panel protects the main packbag if you don't need the lid and leave it at home. Stretch mesh pockets on the front and sides offer additional organizational options and keep gear and extra layers close at hand. Dual zippered pockets on the hipbelt are perfect for snacks, energy gels, or small electronics. Removable side compression straps aid in load transfer and allow you to cinch contents safely in place. Other features include an ice tool attachment loop with a bungee tie-off, webbing lash points for attaching gear, a small safety whistle integrated into the sternum strap buckle, and integrated, removable straps for lashing a sleeping pad. There's also a simple system for holding your trekking poles when not in use with the Stow-on-the-Go carry system. The pack is hydration system compatible (hydration system sold separately).

Constructed of bluesign approved recycled fabrics with a DWR finish, the Osprey Exos 58 internal frame backpack is available in your choice of size and color options.

Comfortable lightweight pack

Likes

I just upgraded to this pack with the goal to have a more comfortable and lighter backpack than what I had with my old Kelty pack that I had been using for around 20 years. I like that the Exos had just enough features for what I needed, but not a lot of extra nonsense that just would add weight. I think it's an extremely well designed pack and I used it on a 3-day trip through the Catskills recently. It was really comfortable and I like the design details that Osprey does a great job with that help it to be really functional. The trekking pole holders were nice to have when I wanted to stash them away as we walked along a road. After the trip, I had no sore spots from the pack like I used to get, so even though this pack is light, Osprey did a really good job designing it and putting the right amount of padding where it is needed. Just a note that I got the Small/Medium and I have it on the largest setting even though my torso is approx 18". If you have a longer torso than that, I think you might want to go with the Large/XLarge.

Dislikes

I wish it came with a rain cover (had to buy that separately) and the lighter materials will mean durability will probably be an issue for the long term. I also wish the hipbelt pocket were just a bit bigger, but it did fit my iphone.
