Description

Catering to adventurers who are looking for value-packed versatility, the Osprey Farpoint 55 offers travel-friendly features in a trail-worthy backpack. The Farpoint 55 delivers load-carrying capability, over 3100 cubic inches of storage capacity and the comfortable fit you've come to expect from Osprey.

Constantly striving to enhance comfort and performance, Osprey has equipped the pack with a fully-featured suspension system. In expectation of comfortably carrying loads of up to 50 pounds, the Farpoint 55 employs a LightWire frame and a spacer mesh backpanel to grant strength, stability and load transfer. Further enhancing fit, the padded hipbelt utilizes an ErgoPull closure that draws tension along the top and the bottom of the belt. A sliding sternum strap and load-lifter straps allow you to fine-tune fit with on-the-go adjustments. The pack comes in two sizes. The Small/Medium size accommodates torsos ranging from 15”-19" in length while a Medium/Large size fits 18”-22” length torsos. When checking the Farpoint 55 at the airport or the train station, you can safely tuck the harness and hipbelt behind an integrated zippered security panel to ensure that your pack stows safely.

The main packbag is accessed by a wide-opening front panel zipper. A large, zippered mesh pocket on the inside of the front panel is ideal for separating and organizing clothes and gear. Internal compression straps allow you to safely secure contents. Stretch-woven side pockets keep water bottles and other gear close at hand. Removable straps on the lower portion of the pack are strategically placed to haul a sleeping pad.

A large front pocket can be detached entirely for use as a fully functional day pack. Integrated shoulder straps and a padded backpanel provide stability and comfort. An adjustable sternum strap further enhances fit. The day pack has zippered panel access, as well as a large front pocket. Dual stretch side pockets offer additional storage options. An internal sleeve makes the day pack hydration system (not included) compatible and doubles as a laptop sleeve. After a day of adventure, the pack safely and securely zippers and clips back onto the front of the Farpoint 55.

Constructed of durable 210D ripstop nylon and 600D pack cloth, the Osprey Farpoint 55 convertible travel pack is available in your choice of size and color options.

Good 55 travel pack and moderate day pack.

Likes

The bigger pack is the best.

Dislikes

The smaller pack is not the best day pack. The day pack is not that comfortable if you want to do a whole day hike.

Farpoint 55 s/m

Likes

Detachable day pack/suitcase like zipper opening/compression straps/shoulder and hip support

Dislikes

Hard to attach daypack to front while main pack on back—-but manageable. Once attached no problem.

The travel backpack Gotham needs...

Likes

This is the most comfortable travel backpack I believe exists in the whole industry. I've tried numerous travel backpacks, but all of them hurt my shoulders or back after a while. Sometimes the hipbelt would not work as easily I would like on the other ones as well. But THIS is the backpack that has changed my life. It is SO comfortable to wear and has plenty of storage.

Dislikes

I understand why the laptop sleeve is located in the detachable daypack, but it would have been nicer to have that in a sleeve closer to my back. Certainly not a deal breaker. A shoulder strap option would have also been nice, but I guess that option is more ideal for the 40 liter version of this pack (which is why it has it and this one doesn't).

Color is maroon

Likes

Well made, lots of space

Dislikes

Color is not as pictured. It's much darker and duller-its a maroon, not bright red as pictured.

Great for Travel

Likes

Detachable daypack Soft fabric pocket for valuables/electronics Love that all of my stuff is in one bag

Waterbottle pockets are basically useless. Bottle fall out all the time. Zipper to remove daypack is a little cumbersome at times

Perfect Travel Pack

Likes

Durable, high quality materials Versatility Capacity The day pack is super convenient

Dislikes

I wish there were a couple straps on the outside to help compress the thickness of the pack when it's only partially full.

Perfect pack for a small gal!

Likes

I bought this bag to ease my travel on an international trip. The bag is incredibly comfortable, adjustable and easy to manage - I'm 5'4 and was able to run, walk and explore with no discomfort. Also there are alot of compartments which make it easy to organize all of your belongings. The bag has really nice handles on the sides which make it easy to throw into the overhead luggage bin. Plus, even though the bag is able to hold alot of stuff I never felt that the pack was "huge" and too big for me.

Loads of space

Likes

The removable day pack is incredibly convenient. The main pack is massive, and allows you to fit lots of clothing or gear. Taking on a 2 week trip to Europe the next month so I'll really see how it fairs. Purchased it because it supposedly fits via carry-on, so we shall see.

Dislikes

Its just aesthetic but, main pack strap cover does not sit flush in the corresponding pocket.
