Well-equipped for ice climbing, alpine pursuits, or ski mountaineering, the Osprey Mutant 22 offers climbing-specific organization and all-season versatility in a lightweight and durable pack.
An Atilon framesheet and an HDPE stay lend the pack lightweight structure and load-balancing stability but can be removed if not needed. A ridged EVA foam backpanel cushions the load and sheds snow easily. Padded shoulder straps enhance fit and load-hauling capability. The removable waist belt has padded hipwings with ice gear carry loops. The adjustable sternum strap also has a built-in emergency whistle.
The panel-loading pack has a wide, lid-like opening for easy access to the interior. In addition to the main compartment, there is a zip mesh pocket under the opening for organizing small essentials. A sleeve pocket can hold a hydration reservoir (sold separately).
The pack is designed to carry your climbing and alpine gear. The front panel has adjustable and removable gear straps and daisy chain loops that are compatible with Voile straps (sold separately). There are also dual ToolLocks with bungee tie-offs for your ice tools. There's also an abundance of sturdy loops for a three-point haul system, an A-frame ski carry, or additional compression. Dual upper compression straps help cinch down the load or secure gear.
Made with bluesign approved materials and featuring a PFC/PFAS-free DWR, the pack has a lightweight but durable construction you can rely on in high-intensity situations. Utilizing gridded Nanofly (UHMWPE) material, the pack is extremely tough and abrasion resistant.
The Osprey Mutant 22 climbing pack is available in your choice of color options.
