Outdoor Research Men's Crocodiles gaiters are the standard for waterproof, breathable, rugged trail protection. With a fitted design and durable fabrics, Men's Crocodiles can be worn over most hiking and mountaineering boots.

Description

A long-standing award winner Outdoor Research Men's Crocodiles gaiters can be found deep in the backcountry and on alpine peaks all over the planet. With a fitted design and durable waterproof fabrics Men's Crocodiles are trustworthy companions for extreme adventures.

The leg sections of Men's Crocodiles are made of waterproof breathable 70D Taslan Gore-Tex fabric while the workhorse boot section is constructed of 1000D Cordura with packcloth lining. The top closures employ webbing and cam buckles to secure the gaiter under the knee. Double-needle stitching on the front 2" wide hook/loop closure offers easy on/off and increases long-wear durability. A Shear tab secures the front closure at the toe of the boot and keeps it from catching on trail debris or crusty snow and ice. The triple-bar tacked BioThane instep strap and buckle system provides adjustability so the Men's Crocodiles can be worn over hiking boots standard mountaineering boots or plastic mountaineering boots.

An absolute classic piece of walking gear, I use these gaiters for cool spring walks at local muddy parks, winter mountaineering adventures in the Adirondacks, and everything in between. These gaiters aren’t lightweight, but they are rugged, durable, and waterproof. They keep water, bugs (ticks), snow, and ice from getting under my pants and socks. The super rugged lower legs can handle lots of abrasion from snowshoes, ski edges, sharp ice, and underbrush. And after years of use, the instep straps are still in great condition!

Sizing is tough with these. The guides are all based on shoe size, but the circumference of your leg will matter too. If you have thinner legs, consider sizing down.

It does what it meant to be! Great protection in the snow . Very durable and protective.

Not the easiest to put on. Hard to get perfect fit with along Velcro line, although the connection never failed me. I still get left/right wrong once a while.
