Amazing Service

Because you deserve it.

The all-season, lightweight Outdoor Research Men's Foray Jacket keeps out wet weather and offers maximum breathability thanks to hem-to-bicep side zippers that create a poncho-style cover when heat needs to escape.

Description

Offering fully-featured 3-season protection the durable lightweight Outdoor Research Men's Foray Jacket keeps out wet weather and offers maximum breathability. Fully-taped GORE-TEX Paclite fabric takes the wear-and-tear of the trail while lightweight yet durable construction make this jacket a good option for year round foul weather protection.

Outdoor Research's innovative TorsoFlo side zips provide superior ventilation. Two-way zippers run from the bicep to the hem of the jacket and allow built-up heat to escape. This feature allows for poncho-style ventilation when your backpack's waistbelt passes underneath the jacket so that you maintain maneuverability without jeopardizing the jacket's waterproof protection or your own comfort.

Other features of the Men's Foray Jacket include a dual-pull adjustable hood a storm flap over the front zipper a zippered external chest pocket and two zippered hand pockets. The left hand pocket doubles as a stuff sack. The standard fit of this jacket leaves room for lightweight insulation layers in cold weather or simple base layers in warmer temperatures.

Fantastic product!

Likes

This jacket has tons of features. If you like ventilation then oh boy this is the jacket for you. pit zips go all the way down to the waist. 2 way zipper in the front. Has plenty of room to layer underneath no looser fit, no need to size up. Gore-tex speaks for itself.

Dislikes

The 2 side pocket zippers are not water-proof. otherwise a perfect jacket

Great rain protection

Likes

This coat is a little beefier than my Marmot Precip, but it sheds the rain very well. I like the zip flap feature for addition ventilation and ease to attach hip belt.

Dislikes

Zippers are a little sticky.

Great Jacket

Likes

Gore Tex coating works great, kept me dry during heavy rain. Water would just roll off the jacket and any beads of water from mist etc would dry off in just a few minutes. Packs down small, would highly recommend this jacket

Dislikes

Because there's a double zipper pull on the front to allow it to be half zipped up or down its a little tricky to get it all the way in to start zipping up the jacket. Just a minor thing that I got used to.

Dislikes

None at the moment, it isn't the cheapest jacket you can find.

Fantastic Rain Jacket

Likes

I bought this jacket and immediately took it on a 10 day trip in super remote Alaska backcountry. We had really bad weather - six days straight of rain and wind, and cloudy/wet every other day. This jacket performed better than any rain jacket I've ever had. It sheds water very well and the zippers offer great breathability (this was the primary reason I purchased this jacket). It kept me warm and about as dry as it could in such conditions.

Dislikes

I can only think of two drawbacks of this jacket, but I would buy it again for sure . First of all, the zippers are hard to use while wearing a pack. We weren't stopping much at all and needing to adjust the side zippers on the fly was pretty tough. Secondly, the weight is a little more than many comparable jackets. The medium comes in at 14.7 oz on my scale. Peace of mind in pouring, cold Alaska rain is much more important to me than saving 5 oz though.

Feels Good, Fits Large

Likes

The jacket feels firm. The shell is fine, but dense. The waterproofing is visible and tangible.

Dislikes

The size is not athletic or a 'true' small for skinny, small-chested people. It can fit a puffy down vest or jacket underneath.
