Great for the urban trail runner or any other runner doing a combination of paved and off-road miles, the Altra Running Women's Outroad running shoe gives you a comfortable ride on roads but is equipped with traction and cushioning to handle trail excursions.
The shoe features Altra Running's Slim FootShape fit that has a snug and secure feel while still allowing your toes to spread out naturally. Unlike traditional running shoes that have an aggressive, narrow taper at the toes, the FootShape design gives your feet more space to sit naturally. This broader cut lets your big toe to remain in a straight position while allowing your other toes to spread, reducing the risk for cramped toes, blisters, and other painful conditions that often plague runners. The shoe also utilizes Altra's Balanced Cushioning platform, where the height of the heel and the forefront are the same, to encourages a natural stride rather than elevating the heel or manipulating foot position. This is meant to promote better alignment and a more natural posture while on the move which in turn lessens impact.
The quick-drying ripstop mesh upper strikes an excellent balance between breathability and durability. A customizable lacing system allows you to dial in the fit for confidence on any trail. The shoe's highly-responsive Altra EGO midsole delivers comfort, reduces fatigue, and provides resiliency with every step.
The shoe has a stack height of 27mm and weighs in around 17.6 ounces per pair. The MaxTrac rubber outsole provides grippy traction on varied terrain and has low-profile lugs for additional security on trails.
