Hitting a happy medium between lightweight livability and durable construction, the Big Agnes Blacktail 2 tent has a spacious design and plenty of storage that make it a versatile choice for backpacking or just your home base in the campground.
Description
- Durable and spacious design: The burly recycled fabric provides confident weather protection, and the tent's pre-bent poles help create plenty of headroom with a peak height of 42 inches. Two doors offer easy access to either side, and each vestibule offers nine square feet of protected storage.
- Confident weather protection season after season: The rainfly and tent floor use a tough 75D recycled polyester taffeta with a waterproof polyurethane coating to keep you protected from the weather. All seams are taped with waterproof, solvent-free polyurethane tape. Two roof vents increase air circulation and dual zippers on the rainfly doors can be used as vents to help control moisture in damp conditions.
- Organize and stash your gear: Inside the tent, multiple pockets help you stash necessary gear off the floor but still close at hand. Loops on the interior can be used to secure lights or a gear loft (sold separately).
- Fast and intuitive setup: Color-coded webbing and buckles take the guesswork out of setup, and the freestanding design can be staked out beforehand or after arranging the tent in a suitable spot. The TipLok Tent Buckle corners streamline setup by combing three functions--securing the pole tips, attaching and tensioning the rainfly, and providing a stake-out loop. If you're using the custom-fit footprint (sold separately), you can set up the rainfly, poles, and the footprint to create a tarp-style shelter or to provide a dry area in which to erect the tent.

The Big Agnes Blacktail 2 has a trail weight of 5 pounds and packs down to 21" x 7" in its included stuff sack. To extend the life of your tent and protect the floor from sharp rocks and roots, Big Agnes recommends using the Blacktail 2 Footprint (sold separately).
