Soft recycled face fabric and a channeled foam core combine to ensure comfort and a year-round worthy R-value of 8.1.
Description
- Constructed to provide soft, pressure-relieving support: The mattress avoids the dreaded “bottoming out” of lesser pads with 4” of high-quality open cell foam. Air channels are cored out of the foam to not only aid in inflation and deflation but to trap warm air to enhance warmth. Vertical sidewalls help to keep you well above the ground and avoid tapering to maximize the available sleeping surface. The 4-way stretch face fabric is super soft and quiet to the touch.
- Designed for easy inflation and deflation with packability: When you unroll the mattress and open one of the one-way inflate valves (there is one at either end of the pad for easy access regardless of the orientation in your vehicle), the foam responds by pulling in air, similar to a sponge absorbing liquid. Once you’ve given the mattress time to fully inflate, you can use the included pump to top off inflation for maximum firmness or let some air out through the deflate valve for a softer mattress. For faster inflation, you can use the electric Exped Widget Pump or Mega Pump (both sold separately). A welded side handle makes the inflated mattress easy to grab and reposition. Deflate valves help to purge air quickly and efficiently when you’re ready to compress the pad and pack it into the included stuff sack.
- Sustainable construction: The MegaMat uses recycled bluesign-approved materials to meet rigorous environmental and consumer protection standards. No non-degradable PFAs are used in production.
Sizing, inflation, and storage
The MegaMat Auto is 77.6” long and 52” at its widest point at the “top”. At the lower portion of the pad, the width is 39”, providing room to work around most wheel wells. A stuff sack and a “top off” inflation pump are included.
