Description
Extreme conditions call for an extreme sleeping bag and the Marmot Col bag fits the bill. With a temperature rating of -20 degrees, this bag is ideal for high alpine expeditions or cold-weather backpacking thanks to its premium down insulation, waterproof/breathable exterior fabric, and array of thermally-efficient features.
The sleeping bag is insulated with certified 800+ fill goose down. Fill power measures the loft or "fluffiness" of down insulation and Marmot goes to great lengths to guarantee the 800+ certification with a battery of in-house and external verifications. Renowned for their efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel and, despite advances in synthetic materials, continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The one weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet, but the bag's Pertex Shield ripstop nylon fabric is completely waterproof.
Eliminating cold spots and providing comfort, sewn-through cross baffle construction ensures that insulation is distributed evenly throughout the bag. The ergonomic baffled hood has a draft collar and drawcord adjustment to help reduce heat loss and keep your head warm and comfortable. Three zippers on the front of the bag create ventilation and access for a variety of conditions. The main center zipper provides easy access for entry and exit and has down-filled draft tubes on either side seal out cold air. The zippers on either side of the main one open up so that you can use your hands while still tucked into the bag, or open for ventilation if you find yourself getting too warm overnight. An anatomically-designed footbox provides a more natural fit for your feet. A wrap-around design and multiple baffles helps to bolster warmth at the feet, a key area to keep warm in extremely cold temperatures.
Filled and finished in the USA (Rohnert Park, CA), the Marmot Col sleeping bag is available in Regular (fits up to 6' 0") and Long (fits up to 6' 6") lengths. A stuff sack and storage sack are included.
