Ideal for overnight backpacking trips the Osprey Ace 50 is specially designed to for younger outdoor enthusiasts ages 8-14. With a highly-adjustable harness and hipbelt, the pack is able to adjust to provide a comfortable fit for your growing adventurer.

Employing a tensioned mesh backpanel, the pack's Airspeed suspension system helps to keep weight off of the back and provides maximum ventilation. A lightweight peripheral aluminum frame effectively distributes weight and delivers supportive stability. Taking into consideration the wide variety of shapes and sizes that youth backpackers between the ages of 8 and 14 tend to come in (and accounting for their growth over time), the suspension has a full 5" of height-adjustability. The recommended torso fit size range is 13"-18". The hipbelt and harness straps are padded, covered in mesh, and perforated to keep weight to a minimum. The Fit-on-the-Fly adjustable hipbelt is also designed to accommodate wearers of various shapes and sizes. An adjustable sternum strap further aids in stability and enhances fit. Side compression straps allow kids to cinch down the packbag to keep contents safely in place and aid in load control.

The full storage capacity of the pack is 3051 cubic inches. As far as weight, Osprey advises that kids not exceed a weight range of 15-20% of the pack wearer's body weight. The top-loading packbag is accessed beneath a floating top lid that incorporates a zippered compartment for gear storage. A zipper on the front of the pack grants access to a lower sleeping bag compartment with a divider and sleeping pad straps are incorporated on the lower exterior. Stretch woven pockets on the front and sides of the pack offer additional organizational options and keep gear and extra layers close at hand. Convenient zippered pockets on the hipbelt offer quick-and-easy access to other gear and essentials.

Other features include an adjustable ice tool or fishing rod loop, daisy chain attachment points, and an integrated raincover to protect against the elements. An internal sleeve makes the pack hydration compatible (reservoir sold separately).
