Description
- Lightweight design for easier ascents and stability in the mountains: Osprey relies on their sturdy Lightwire frame and an HDPE framesheet to create structure without bulk in the suspension. Die cut EVA foam in the harness, hipbelt and backpanel offer comfort even under load. The buckle of the adjustable sternum strap doubles as a safety whistle, and the hipbelt has an aluminum safety buckle closure and tuckaway leg loop required for avalanche terrain.
- Travel-ready avalanche safety system: The pack includes the Osprey Alpride E2 Airbag System. This fast-charging and reliable avalanche airbag system has an LCD display to show the charge/energy levels of the system and automatic pressure relief valve that relieves the airbag pressure three minutes after inflation. The harness has dual-sided multi-height airbag handle attachment points so you can set the handle in the best location for you. The Alpride E2 also uses supercapacitor technology that is non-hazardous for flight.
- Additional safety features for peace of mind: In addition to the airbag system, the zippered front compartment has pockets and organization for avalanche safety gear. Inside the main compartment, there's a pocket for a GPS unit or a radio, and a mic unit can be clipped to either side of the harness, depending on which side the airbag handle is on.
- Snow-specific storage and organization: The pack offers 32 liters of capacity independent of the space occupied by the airbag system. The main compartment has a large U-shaped zipper for easy access and there's an internal zippered pocket for essentials. The hipbelt sports a zippered pocket and a gear loop. The pack's straps adjust to carry skis in either an A-frame or diagonal position, and a snowboard can be carried on the front panel. A dual-position stowaway helmet carry system, ice tool sleeve and attachment points, and sled carry loops round out its mountain-ready features.
- Sustainable construction that doesn't compromise on functionality or durability: The pack's main body is made of bluesign approved 100D NanoFly fabric, which uses recycled high-tenacity nylon and ultra-high-molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) to create a fabric that's incredibly light with exceptional abrasion resistance. The pack itself is a certified bluesign product, which ensures that environmental and social considerations have gone into its design and construction.
