Weighing just over a pound, the Outdoor Research Helium Bivy is built for the stingiest of ounce-counting adventurers or anyone looking for an ultra-lightweight backup shelter. High-performance fabrics balance weight, durability, waterproofness, and breathability.
Measuring 82” x 26” at the head and tapering to 19”wide at the feet, the bivy is large enough to accommodate most sleeping bags and standard-sized sleeping pads. An integrated Delrin pole runs over the top of the bag, keeping material off of your face and providing nearly 20" of headroom while you are lying flat on your back. To shed weight, you can remove the pole entirely. Extra volume is built into the foot section of the bivy to provide a little wiggle room and increase livability.
Despite its light weight, the bivy still delivers durability and reliable protection thanks to its Pertex Shield 2.5L ripstop nylon construction. A 40D laminated nylon floor is surprisingly rugged and full seam taping bolsters waterproof protection. Integrated No-See-Um mesh at the head of the bivy enhances breathability when weather cooperates.
The Outdoor Research Helium Bivy is available in your choice of color options. A stuff sack is included.
