Outdoor Research Prevail Heated GORE-TEX Mitts (Used)

Tested in the coldest conditions, the Outdoor Research Prevail Heated GORE-TEX Mitts provide exceptional weather protection and battery-powered warmth when skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and more in alpine environments.

Waterproof and breathable with push-button heat activation, the mitts use a 3-stage battery-powered system and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries to provide up to 8 hours of added warmth for bitter cold weather when used at the lowest setting. A button on the back of the gauntlet powers on the mitts, adjusts the temperature settings, and turns them off for easy use. The lightweight batteries easily stow inside a zippered pocket at the palm side of the gauntlet and plug into the mitts. Once zipped up the batteries are out of the way and do not require any loose cords or components allowing for freedom of movement through the wrist and hand.

EnduraLoft synthetic insulation throughout the hand and gauntlet offers lightweight warmth for comfort on warmer days while the 100% waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX inserts provide extra protection during wet conditions. Full goat leather palms and palm patches offer a natural grip and durable hand protection. They also enable you to use touchscreen electronics without having to expose your hands and fingers to the elements. The abrasion-resistant outer shell holds up to the demands of long days spent out in the cold. Other features include mitt clips, removable leashes, and drawcord-adjustable gauntlets.

WARNING: Do not use this heated mitts in conjunction with avalanche beacons. Electrically heated mitts interfere with the performance of avalanche beacons, impairing your ability to conduct a search or be located. Additionally, prolonged periods of exposure to excess heat can lead to burns, so check your hands regularly for reddening of the skin. For this reason, the mitts are not for use by children and anyone with problems sensing heat or cold (due to diabetes, Raynaud's disease or similar) should consult a doctor before using the mitts.
