While delivering the stability required of a backpacking boot, the Salomon Men's Quest 5 GTX boot draws upon Salomon's trail running heritage to offer waterproof protection and excellent support without being overly heavy or cumbersome and not compromising on responsiveness or agility.
Description
- Dual fabrication equips the upper with a balance of stability, flexibility, durability, and weather protection: The boot features a hybrid leather and water-resistant textile upper that provides a comfortable, supportive fit. Strategic overlays improve durability and increase stability while a waterproof/breathable GORE-TEX membrane that keeps your foot dry. Extended padding above the protective heel cup delivers extra comfort while stretch fabric at the top rear of the boot teams with a gusseted tongue to help keep dust and debris from sneaking inside. A rubber toe cap protects your toes from rocks and roots.
- Stabilizing and cushioning midsole support: Under foot, Salomon's 4D Advanced Chassis cradles your heel, protects your ankle, and provides extra stability and support to reduce fatigue during long days on the trail. Best of all, it does so with less weight and bulk than traditional stiff leather hiking boots. A foam midsole maximizes comfort and teams with an included insole to optimize cushioning and fit.
- All-terrain grip with long-lasting durability: The boot's Contagrip outsole utilizes a rugged rubber compound and a deep, aggressive lug pattern to provide excellent traction on mixed terrain including both on-and-off trail while ensuring durability to last season after season.
