Description

Safe and effective filter system provides drinkable water on the go: The QuickDraw uses a 0.2 micron hollow fiber filter that removes bacteria and protozoa from your drinking water. It is individually tested to ensure it meets all EPA and NSF guidelines. It has a flow rate of up to 3 liters per minute so you can get your water and continue on your way.
Strong and durable reservoir won't leak or break: The proprietary tri-layer film dirty reservoir has an easy-fill easy wide mouth opening, a fill handle, and is super durable and packable--plus it's guaranteed plastic-taste-free.
Combine and customize for your trail system: The filter has inner/outer threads, a ConnectCap, and a quick-connector-fitted short hose you can use to attach your preferred clean and dirty water vessels, such as other Platy bottles, common 28mm plastic bottles, and quick disconnect-fitted hydration reservoirs (all sold separately).
Easy cleaning in the field: You can easily clean the QuickDraw simply by connecting it to the dirty reservoir with about a half-liter of water in it and shaking vigorously. Backflushing is another technique that cleans more thoroughly but takes a little longer, and Platypus includes a backflush washer that can be used with the included reservoir and ConnectCap for cleaning.

Capacity and care

To get the most out of your filter, run some water through the system so that it's damp before you hit the trail. The hollow fiber filter has a capacity of up to 1,000 liters, depending on water quality. Keep in mind that hollow fiber filters can be damaged by being dropped or freezing when wet. To perform an integrity check on the QuickDraw, first run a liter of water through the filter, as it needs to be fully wetted for the check. Then fill the dirty reservoir with about a half-liter of water. Start filtering as usual, but then flip the system so that the reservoir is below the filter and squeeze air up through it. If you see a steady stream of bubbles coming out of the top of the filter, it's been compromised and should be replaced. A few bubbles emerging initially is fine, but a steady stream indicates that the hollow fibers have been compromised.
