Description

  • Priced-right waterproof and windproof protection: The pants' recycled 50D Pertex Shield fabrication keeps you dry while also providing breathability, so you don't overheat. If it's really muggy, you can use integrated side zips to dump excess heat. Extending 3/4 of the way up the pants, the side zips have a hook-and-loop storm flap that allows you to open the zip for ventilation while staying protected from splashed water, The zips also make it easy to pull the pants on over boots.
  • Additional features to enhance both fit and performance: In addition to the side zips, the pants have a simple partially-elasticated waistband and articulated knees. Drawcord adjustable hems and snap closures allow the pants to pair well with a wide variety of footwear.

The most logical thing to pair with my Rab Downpour jacket are Rab Downpour Pants. Thanks to three-quarter side leg zips, I can throw them on in a flash and take them off when the rain stops, plus I can still get them over my snow boots in cold conditions. I thought I would miss the lack of pockets but have since found it saves weight and helps with packability in the long run. Despite being taller, I have a shorter inseam, and the short version allows the cuff to stay where it needs to be and avoids the dreaded cuff shred, which can cut short the life of rain pants prematurely.
