Is this a softshell, a fleece, or a windshell? Honestly, I don’t care how it’s classified, I just know it’s become a key component of my kit for running and cross-country skiing in late fall, winter, and early spring. If it’s really super wet out or the weather report is calling for torrential rain, I’ll throw a shell over top, but, in almost any other conditions, this is the perfect top layer. It really does move with you, the fleecy interior offers just-enough-but-not-too-much warmth, the exterior keeps wind at bay, and the cuffs and hood pull of the rare feat of fitting just right whether or not I have on a hat and gloves.
