Description

Salewa's 3F system creates an anatomical, precision fit : Mirroring the asymmetry of the human foot and resulting in less movement in the heel, less rubbing, and less potential for blisters, climbing-style lacing and a molded wrap around the heel and low ankle spread the lacing three-dimensionally to hug the entire foot for an ideal fit.
Durable, abrasion-resistant upper for confident performance on technical trails: The shoe's seamless Kevlar-reinforced Matryx upper stands up to scrapes and scratches from craggy rocks or protruding roots. A protective TPU rand softens the blow of rocks and roots.
Underfoot support and traction for whatever the trail serves up: Ample cushioning that's responsive without feeling mushy provides comfort over long treks or technical approaches. The unique Salewa multi-zone outsole with Vibram Megagrip rubber provides secure grip and traction in almost any conditions or terrain.

Being a Euro brand, Salewa runs a bit on the small size, but so long as you go up a half-size, the precision fit is really impressive. I’ve found that on all of their boots and shoes and the Wildfire NXT delivers on that same promise. It really shines on rocky terrain and has become my go-to approach shoe for climbing when getting to the crag is half the adventure. The lightweight design, grippy outsole, and climbing shoe-like lacing system keeps me feeling really sure-footed on scrambles, slickrock, and rough terrain.
