The synthetic upper breaks in easily and, with the aid of a fully gusseted and padded tongue, helps to keep rocks, dust, and grit out of the shoe. The fully waterproof GORE-TEX lining helps keep feet dry and comfortable.
Underfoot, the shoe has a lightweight feel like a running shoe, but still provides support and protection for rugged hiking or lightweight backpacking. The midsole utilizes Salomon's dual density Energy Surge foam for cushioning and energy return. Built with Salomon's Anatomic Decoupling, the shoe flexes with your foot so that internal independent platforms can adapt to your stride and the terrain. A molded Ortholite sockliner enhances comfort and fit.
A versatile All Terrain Contagrip rubber outsole with deep lugs balances durability and flexible responsiveness so you enjoy confident traction on wet or dry surfaces and hard-packed or loose terrain.
