Delivering maximum performance in harsh winter conditions the Salomon Snowspike CS WP running shoe starts with the foundation of the iconic Speedcross trail running shoe but equips it with a high-cut zippered gaiter fully waterproof protection and the superior traction of aggressive lugs and embedded outsole spikes.
The shoe's welded synthetic upper is highly abrasion-resistant and a fully waterproof GORE-TEX liner ensures that your feet stay dry and comfortable. The “anti debris” design of the extended-height upper with a zippered and snap closure also helps keep moisture stones and grit from getting inside the shoe. A protective toe cap softens the impact of rocks and roots. Fit is assured with the lightweight Quicklace system and a streamlined pocket in the padded and gusseted tongue allows you tuck away any excess lacing.
The midsole utilizes Salomon's Energy Cell + compound to simultaneously deliver underfoot cushioning and energy return. A molded Ortholite sockliner enhances comfort and fit. A firm supportive heel offers excellent on-trail stability. The stack height of the heel is 30mm while the forefoot is 20mm resulting in a 10mm drop.
The shoe's Contagrip TA rubber outsole utilizes extremely aggressive Chevron lugs and imbedded tungsten spikes to deliver enhanced traction on snow and ice.
