The boot's welded upper is constructed of breathable abrasion-resistant anti-debris mesh. The synthetic material breaks in easily and with the aid of a fully gusseted and padded tongue helps to keep rocks dust and grit out of the shoe. A protective mudguard helps to shed muck and maintain breathability. The fully waterproof GORE-TEX lining keeps feet dry.
Under foot the Outline Mid GTX has a lightweight feel like a running shoe but still provides support and protection for rugged hiking or lightweight backpacking. The midsole utilizes Salomon's Energy Cell compound to simultaneously deliver underfoot cushioning and energy return. An Ortholite sockliner enhances comfort and fit.
The durable Contagrip MD rubber outsole offers excellent traction.
