The Sea to Summit Explore ExIII Double-Wide is a versatile sleeping bag built for two sleepers. In conditions as cold as 5 degrees F, the bag's water-resistant duck down fill, draft tubes, and insulated hood and footbox ensure reliable warmth. In warmer weather, the zippers that run all the way around the bag allow the top to be separated into a quilt.
Renowned for their efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel and, despite advances in synthetic materials, continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The one inherent weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet, but the bag's 750+ RDS-certified fill Ultra-Dry Down performs differently. Ensuring consistent thermal performance, a hydrophobic treatment enables the insulation to stay dry longer and dry faster if it should become wet than traditional down insulation. A 30D nylon exterior shell adds additional protection and a 20D nylon lining offers next-to-skin comfort.
The bag has a spacious contoured rectangular shape. Vertical and horizontal baffles prevent the down insulation from shifting to the outside of the bag during sleep. Two oversized draft tubes help prevent warmth from escaping through the zippers. The large hood has a cord adjuster for each sleeper. Three 2-way zippers running around the edge of the bag allow for endless ventilation options, as well as allowing the option to separate the top for use a warm-weather quilt.
The bag utilizes simple removable adjustable webbing loops to connect the bag directly to a sleeping pad or air mattress (sold separately). The attachment system allows use of two single or one double wide mat. An interior pocket stows small valuables and a stuff sack is included with each bag.
The Sea to Summit Explore ExIII Double-Wide sleeping bag fits to 6' 0".
