Utilizing forward thinking design principles and maintaining a focus on 3+ season livability for up to 2 backpackers, the Sea to Summit Telos TR2 Plus tent balances weight and weather-resistance while maximizing internal space, enhancing ventilation, and providing multi-pitch capability.
The two-person tent measures 84.5" x 53" at its widest point. To save weight, it tapers to 43" at the feet which still results in overall interior space of 28 square feet. Unique pole geometry creates 43.5" of overhead peak height and increases the steepness of the side walls to provide a wealth of internal elbow room. Two doors offer easy entry and dual vestibules provide a combined 19.5 square feet of protected external space. Sea to Summit also offers the custom-fit Telos TR2 Gear Loft (sold separately) to repurpose the unused space near the foot of the tent to provide internal storage for clothes and gear.
Premium DAC TH72M aluminum poles grant the tent freestanding structure though lightweight, strong Ground Control Light Tent pegs are included to ensure a stable pitch. A Tension Ridge pole running across the roof of the tent curves upward to create the livable interior space, the ample headroom, and the roomy vestibules. The 20D ripstop nylon tent body is an excellent balance of weight and durability. Working in tandem with the Tension Ridge, ceiling vents in the PeU-coated 15D nylon rainfly further enhance airflow without compromising weather protection. These vents can be closed from inside if you want to batten the hatches and integrated vents at the floor of the tent can still ward off condensation. By utilizing a pair of adjustable trekking poles or investing in the Sea to Summit Telos Hangout Pole Set (sold separately), you can set the internal tent body aside and convert the rainfly to Hangout Mode, allowing it to function as an airy sun shelter! The 6" deep 30D ripstop nylon tub-style floor ensures weather-resistant protection. Two types of footprints are also available (but sold separately) to add increased protection. The Telos TR2 Lightfoot protects the interior floor of the tent from sharp objects, mud, and ground water while the Telos TR2 Bigfoot accomplishes the same but actually extends protection to create floors inside both vestibules too. By using the poles and the rainfly with either of the footprints, you can shed the weight of the inner tent body in fair weather and enjoy an even lighter weight set-up.
The tent incorporates several other unique features. Its FairShare storage system allows you to pack the tent into a single 5.1" x 18.9" unit or divide it three ways to share the weight amongst multiple backpackers or to just give you flexibility on how you carry it. These individual compartments can also be utilized as clip-in gear storage pockets when the tent is pitched. The pole bag has a rigid, translucent side that helps turn it into a Lightbar of ambient light for the interior of your tent when paired with a headlamp (headlamp not included). It clips directly into the ceiling of the inner tent body to provide soft, even overhead lighting.
