The included pump sack work amazingly well.If you want to save an ounce or so, you can ditch it (and the stuff sack it's built in to). The regular size was perfect for me at 6'1", and was perfectly comfortable, even on my side. This is a great alternative to a Neoair for a couple extra ounces and a few less dollars.

The Sea to Summit Ultralight Insulated pad was the perfect piece to my Ultralight backpacking kit. So I went to REI and was testing out EVERY sleeping pad that weighs around a pound (16.6oz), has a compact packed size, 3-season capability, and available in a short size (66L x 21.5W) the extra 1.5W over the common 20W that is in most ultralight pads is nice for my shorter/broader frame. I’m 5’5” around 150lbs so the L/W combo is perfect for me! After being torn between a few contenders... the NeoAir Xlite/Big Agnes AXL/NEMO Tensor Insulated/REI Flash. I decided that the the Sea to Summit pad was the best pad for my personal needs and style of backpacking. Includes an awesome stuffsack air pump which makes inflation easy and keeps the inside of your pad cleaner. It’s should be more durable with a 40D ripstop nylon (most ultralight pads use 15D-20D material) but it’s a new purchase so time will tell. And honestly it was the most comfortable for me... I’m a believer in the Air Sprung Cells design. Instead of a few long horizontal or vertical tubes, this pad comes with 174 of these independently moving cells. Laying on my back, stomach, or sides feels super solid and stable. Highly recommend this pad because I believe that it’s the best ALL AROUND ultralight sleeping pad currently on the market.
