The Elite Cagoule is constructed of a PU-coated 30D polyester/nylon blend that wards off precipitation. The jacket extends well below your waist to protect your lap and backside as well as your upper body. Awning vents under the arms and additional vents at the hemline maximize airflow without sacrificing protection. The hem vents also allow for backpack hipbelts to pass through without pinching closed the jacket and inhibiting air circulation.
A relaxed fit allows for the wearing of baselayers or midlayers. A deep opening on the chest makes the Elite Cagoule easy to take on and off and provides yet another venting option. A minimally-adjustable hood has an integrated stiffened brim to further fend off the elements. Two high-set hand pockets are accessible even if you are wearing a pack.
Available in your choice of size and color options the Men's Elite Cagoule weighs just 9 ounces. By combining the jacket with Sierra Designs Elite Rain Chaps (sold separately) backpackers can have complete weather protection at a weight of just 14 ounces.
