Weighing just 3.88 ounces, the Snow Peak Mini Flame backpacking lantern provides up to 15 hours of bright, adjustable lighting when powered by a single 110 gram canister of Snow Peak GigaPower fuel (sold separately; not available online). The full dimensions of the lantern are a compact 1.5” x 1.8” x 4.7”.The glass shade provides a natural, candle-like light and an integrated knob enables you to fine-tune brightness. The lantern is constructed of aluminum alloy, glass, and stainless steel.

There's just something about the flicker of a candle and the light it provides that I find far more appealing than the dull glow of an LED light, and this ingenious little canister-top lantern provides that aesthetic beautifully. Yes, there are lighter and more packable options out there and it does require the use of a fuel canister, but its lightweight and packable enough that I almost always bring it with me and am glad that I did. I can think of at least 3 or 4 hiking companions who felt the same after seeing mine and decided they 'needed' one too!
