Description

The ultra-lightweight, rectangular Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Xlte Max inflatable sleeping pad is ideal for ounce-counting backpackers who still appreciate a little extra room to sprawl. The mattress utilizes an integrated truss system and a heat-reflecting interior to achieve a 3.0 R-value.

Unlike the limited number of vertical baffles employed by most traditional inflatable pads, the NeoAir Xlite Max utilizes horizontal air baffles. While minimizing convective cooling, Therm-a-Rest's Triangular Core Matrix technology and the increased number of baffles help to increase stability and avoid the "inflatable raft" feeling caused by overinflated vertical baffles. In addition, a patent-pending internal reflective barrier actually directs heat back to your body and cold air back to the ground!

The inflatable construction provides a full 2.5" thick support base. Ultra-lightweight, high-tenacity materials offer durability while maintaining an incredibly light packed weight. And soft, textured non-slip surface fabrics offer next-to-skin comfort that’s also quiet when you move around on the mattress.

The Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Xlite Max is available in Regular Wide (25" x 72") and Large (25" x 77") size options. Adding additional value, a stuff sack and field repair kit are included.

  • Inflatable sleeping pad
  • Suitable for 3-Season use
  • 3.0 R-Value
  • Internal, reflective barriers offers ultra-lightweight support, warmth and comfort
  • Stuff sack included

Hope Thermarest brings it back

Likes

Wide, warm, difficult to roll-off, comfortable for side-sleepers. This 'seems' warmer than the latest mummy style Xlite - I assume because cold air does not creep in from the sides. Perhaps the wide mummy saves a little weight, but I'm not certain. Great for quilt users.

Dislikes

Noisier than the average pad, used the older valve technology, discontinued. Only downside is it does not work in sleeping bags that require a pad because there is no insulation in the back and use a sleeve that limits the pad size to 20" - but this wider pad I can just put the bag on top.

Comfy 3-Season Pad!

Likes

1. Wide enough for any sleep style 2. Works well with the Therm-a-Rest air pump. 3. Super Comfy!

Dislikes

A little noisy, but that’s to be expected given it’s weight.

Very Pleased

Very comfortable. The regular wide was a perfect solution for this 5'10", 180# guy. When I stretched out on the pad I could feel heat radiating back to me. To test this I inflated my klymit V2 and laid side by side. It was the extra R value that did the trick. I was able to elevate myself on the elbows and knees with no bottoming out. Front, back, and side positions were all comfortable. Took my lungs 28 breaths to inflate compared to the smaller v2 which took 14. I have a pump sack in the mail so I am not going to worry. Pad is not slippery and has just the right amount of "grab". Compared to all the youtube reviews and other reviews I did not find this pad noisy and crinkly. Sure I could scrunch the side and make noise but once I laid down, rolled over, moved around the crinkle was almost inaudible. The folks that felt it would keep them awake probably also struggle with owls hooting, birds and frogs chirping and deer rustling through the leaves(not being snarky just trying to illustrate my thoughts).

Dislikes

Color?? Must be the marketing department at Thermarest trying to make theirs stand out and differentiate from the "pack". Would prefer a muted earthy color.

Love this pad

Likes

Im a side sleeper and I was concerned how this pad was going to work out for me. I took it out to Michigan for three nights of camping and I can gladly say that I had no issues.

Dislikes

Definitely one downside is the time it takes to inflate

Good!

Likes

Comfortable with sufficient width and length for my needs.

Dislikes

Takes a while to inflate and deflate. Solved this with a neoair pump sack.

Most comfortable sleep to date outside

Likes

- Very comfortable - Packs very small - Haven't experienced the noise previously cited in other reviews (but I am a heavy sleeper)

Dislikes

- Takes a LONG time to inflate, with significant effort compared to other offerings (I am a long-distance cyclist). Perhaps the SpeedValve model solves this issue

I'm a big fan of this pad

Likes

After using a tapered shaped sleeping pad for awhile, I found that I would often slide off it throughout the night. This wider rectangular pad solved those problems for me. I have slept really well on this pad, and it gives some extra room to toss and turn without arms or legs ending up on the ground. It is very comfortable, light-weight, and rolls up small. It's not as bad to inflate or noisy as I feared. It also kept me insulated just fine on a recent trip when the temps went down into the 30s. I hope this pad lasts me many years!

Dislikes

I wish it came with a stuff sack that could be used to inflate it. Otherwise, no complaints!

After shoulder injuries I needed a extra wide pad. Didn't think I'd find one this light weight!

Dislikes

None that I've found.

Finally a lightweight regular length wide pad!

Likes

It's so hard to find a lightweight pad in a regular length wide width. Definitely warm and comfortable. Packs down decent enough too

Dislikes

Takes a lot to blow up and the nozzle on the thermarest units aren't the best. just like the other x-lite models it's rather crinkly.
